Higher Walton ‘murder’: Man, 35, arrested after bodies of man and woman found in house

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after the bodies of two people were found inside house in a Lancashire village.

Police discovered the pair dead in the property in Higher Walton, between Preston and Blackburn, after carrying out a welfare check on Saturday afternoon.

Neighbours have named the deceased as Anthony Tipping and Tricia Livesey, LancsLive reports

Officers made a forced entry where they made the horrific find.

The unnamed suspect was arrested on Saturday and is in police custody.

A spokesman for the force said: “Detectives have launched a murder investigation after two people were found dead inside a house in Higher Walton.

“We were called at 1.40pm today (November 20) to a concern for the safety of the occupants of a property in Cann Bridge Street. Officers have forced entry and sadly found a man and a woman deceased.

“Their deaths are being treated as suspicious and a scene is currently in place.

“A 35-year-old local man has this evening been arrested on suspicion of their murders. He remains in custody at this time.

“The family of the victims have been made aware of the latest development and are being supported by specially-trained officers. Our thoughts remain with them at this time.

“A dedicated team of detectives have been assigned to the case and enquiries are very much ongoing.

“Reassurance patrols have been stepped up in the area as a precaution.
