Dog owners might be more used to their dog’s favourite toy being a ball or a bone, but Koira is a bit different – the collie can’t get enough of playing the wind chimes.
The musical pup has been a big hit over on her owner’s TikTok account @lifewithkoira , where videos of Koira playing her wind chimes have amassed millions of views.
When owner Shonae brought home some wind chimes that she’d bought at a local thrift shop, the border collie kelpie cross took an instant liking to them.
“I put them on the windowsill and she was staring at them,” Shonae recalls. “I played them for her and she spent the next hour or so trying to give them her ball.”
Two-year-old Koira seemed to fall in love with the sound of the wind chimes, and even wanted her owner to play them for her.
“She kept bringing me over to the chimes, looking at me and then back at the chimes. I’d play them for her and she’d wag her tail and smile,” Shonae says.
The pup quickly worked out that she could play the wind chimes herself by nudging her nose against them. She would attract Shonae’s attention in order to show her owner her “latest musical masterpiece”.
The TeamDogs Christmas Gift Guide, sponsored by Keep Wales Tidy, is packed with more than 40 treats, toys, gadgets and garments to make every dog’s tail wag with holly jolly joy on December 25.
We’ve tried and tested many of the gifts on our own TeamDogs friends so you can ensure they’re worth placing under the tree for your most special member of the family.
Koira loved playing the chimes so much that Shonae bought the dog her very own set – and the pup seemed delighted with her gift.
“We randomly hear her play them throughout the day,” Shonae says.
“We just laugh and shake our heads. She is extremely unique.”
Koira isn’t the only musically-minded collie that people have been watching lately.
This dog had such impressive singing skills that London’s Royal Opera House dropped him a line.
After a clip of Nico showing off his amazing operatic range went viral on TikTok, his skills were compared to the likes of Ave Maria and Phantom of the Opera.
The world-famous Opera House commented: “We’ll be in touch soon.”
